About Leeds Wellbeing Web

Welcome to the Leeds Wellbeing Web!

The Wellbeing Web is an exciting project in Leeds, which started in 2012 and we would like to invite you to get involved!

The Wellbeing Web is a blog where individuals can contribute information, stories, pictures or films about places and activities in Leeds which help maintain their wellbeing. The aim is to create a fantastic online resource where people can share their experiences of staying well in Leeds.

This blog aims to encourage them and others to think more positively and proactively about their mental health and help them to maintain their wellbeing.

It’s about giving people a voice to tell their own stories and the story of their city through their own eyes. These stories could involve how you managed a health goal, such as giving up smoking, or getting over a period of insomnia.   They could also include events, places and activities within Leeds which have enhanced your life.

This is an open blog which is there as a resource for anyone with mental health difficulties to contribute to.

Peoples Voice MediaIn the past we ran a Community Reporters Course in conjunction with Manchester based People’s Voice Media. We may be running similar courses in the future –  which involved blog writing, Social Media and Video production – which gave people the skills and confidence they need to tell their story.

Remember, this is YOUR blog and we’re keen to hear from you!

    • Thanks Carol. Respect to John Baron, who set up the WordPress blog and got us all using it. It’s been great fun so far! Of course a guest blog from you would be very welcome – I understand you know a thing or two about the benefits of creative writing!!

  1. This is a nice and innovative discovery. I run a monthly mindfulness group in Headingley which is as much part of my well being as other participants. Maybe I can contribute to a blog or two. It would be a bit of an adventure. Much as I like the idea of blogging, I haven’t quite cracked it yet.

  2. Nice to hear from you. It would be great to have a post from you about what mindfulness is, how you got into it, and what people can do to get more involved. If you contact us though e-mail I can send you an invitation to be a contributor and we can go from there.
